Chinese Garden of Friendship

Saturday 30th July 2016

Hidden away in the depths of Chinatown and Darling Harbour is the Chinese Garden of Friendship, designed by Sydney’s Chinese sister city, Guangzhou. The garden was opened in 1988 and named the Garden of Friendship to symbolise the bond between China and Australia.

The gardens are based on the typical private gardens of the Ming Dynasty and offers an insight into Chinese heratige and culture. They feature a lake, buildings and walkways all in typical Chinese style. I found the gardens to be very peaceful to walk around and can imagine spending a whole afternoon there relaxing.
